dig, you can see that BIND only returns only returns 8 of the addresses
in the "additional information" section.
That is probably because that is the maximum number that fits into a UDP
packet.
dig mx netcom.com
results in a 506 byte reply, which is quite close to the 512 byte maximum.
The fact that an address is not returned in the 'additional section'
doesn't make the MX host less preferred. It is the order in the 'answer
section' that matters and just means that you'll have to do an
additional lookup.
