Mea culpa on the wrong IP. Thanks for the clarification.

I see that comcast.net has no SPF TXT file but that
gmail.com (my MTA/POP source) does have one - namely:
"v=spf1 redirect=_spf.google.com"
What does this do? and is it of any value to me?
George
The 'redirect' parameter redirects all queries to the named domain,
in this case '_spf.google.com'. This one results in:
_spf.google.com. IN TXT "v=spf1 ip4:216.239.56.0/23
ip4:64.233.160.0/19 ip4:66.249.80.0/20 ip4:72.14.192.0/18 ?all"
It's a good way of managing SPF for multiple domains. You only have
to make changes in one record and it will be used by all the other
domains that redirect to it.
Whether it's of value to you is up to you. I guess it depends on your
understanding of its use which I hope I've cleared up for you.
