Hey Jeff,
As a matter of note there are 4 other XSLT 2.0 projects that I know of
that are in various phases of development:
Oracle's 10g XDK project
http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/xml/xdk/xdkbeta.html
Saxon.NET project
http://www.x2x2x.org/x2x2x/home
XQP Project
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xqp
Colin's Eiffel project - Sorry Colin, I'm not sure where your project is
located!
I have no doubt there are more than this but with the XSLT 2.0
reccomendation still a bit off I'm assuming then any of the major
players beyond Saxonica and Oracle are taking there time to produce more
competitive products before they release them in beta.
Hope this helps!

Well, that is disappointing. As good as Saxon is (and it's very good -- no
quibbles on that point), it would be nice to see other companies jump on the
bandwagon and pick up all the new features of XSLT 2.0
Long ago, in a galaxy far far away (well, 8 months ago at a company in
Cambridge MA) I had the impression that there were about 4 new XSLT 2.0
processors coming "real soon". In addition, the OASIS XSLT Conformance
committee was beginning work on an XSLT 2.0 conformance test suite. Has all
this work stopped since I last looked, or has it just taken much longer than
it should have?

At present Saxon is your only choice. This won't remain true forever, but
that's the situation today.
