Correct. Fetchmail takes the mail from a local system and hands it over to your local SMTP server. Fetchmail HAS NO CONTROL over what happens to the email once it hands it over to the SMTP server. Only the SMTP server knows what happens to it.

fetchmailrc used -- set postmaster "postmaster", whreas there's no user by
name "postmaster"!?  Where all emails gone?

Can I strongly suggest you do some reading and learn how sendmail works (and fetchmail). There should be an alias for postmaster to send email elsewhere.

As I said before - the only way to find out what happened to the emails is to look in your mail log. Nobody here can do that for you.
