One issue BTW that filter-during-SMTP-transaction systems have to think
about, is that if you teergrube or tempfail on an entire ESMTP connection
basis, this could result in affecting legit mail -- since legit mail may
be mixed in with spam, if (a) the spam was delivered to a mailing list, or
(b) the spam was sent to your secondary MX at around the same time as
some legitimate mail was.
David, I'm sure you've already considered this in the RoaringPenguin stuff
;) But this technique is becoming more widely implemented, so it's worth
noting for the folks who haven't. ;)
