True. The 2 common cases that come to my mine would be:

1. Intermittent connectivity. In this situation users would do essentially what they do now with intermittent connectivity for newsgroup access: connect to pull the current RSS file and connect to pull whatever content they want or sent any comments/replies.

2. Disjoint connectivity, i.e. behind a strong firewall. In this case the RSS updates could be proxied in the same way as web access is proxied in such environments.
