Why are we making a decision in SIEVE WG that MDNs are bad?

They are well known to be bad.

Discouraging the use of MDNs as a means of avoiding blow back is really not our job.

Lead them not into temptation.

IMO, saying that reject is free to use a protocol-level rejection is fine. Giving reject an argument to unconditionally use an MDN is fine too. It's NOT fine to use MDNs often in cases where the sieve script's owner only wants to reject the mail.
