FWIW, I strongly agree to the point of considering this serious bad
judgment on the IAB's part (and making that decision without any
opportunity for community input even worse).
It occurs to me that the fact that the IAB didn't solicit public input,
actually provides an opportunity for the IETF to put in its own two cents
on the issue, adding its voice to those of IAB and ICANN.
An excellent suggestion!
