There are several problems with that logic:
One problem is that the network doesn't entirely break or not break in the
presence of feature X; it works for some people and breaks for some others.
Another is that it doesn't address tussles. If feature X and feature Y are
mutually incompatible, in that use of feature X breaks feature Y and vice
versa, who is to say which feature is good and which is "breaking" the network?
Another is that when (some) network operators configure their network in such a
way as to break feature X, others use that breakage as an excuse to justify
breaking even more things.
