Top level domains as
countries are more appropriate for a system, with internationl
aspirations.
What do you do about *organizations* with international aspirations?
Third, DNS names, because they tend to be short, are often not
very descriptive. In general you cannot tell, a priori, whether my
mailbox at BBN is STK, SKENT, STKENT, or KENT.
So you use finger or netfind or X.500 or a similar distributed
phonebook to look up your email address, then hang on to it and use
it. (does x.500 have a "rfc822 mail address" field? If not, why not?
:-) )
Think "email address == phone number."
