It IS unfortunate that the politically transcendent modes of DNS use,
irritate politicians.  But that should surprise no one, and politicians
rule global standardization, which should also surprise no one.

As Stef reminded us, you can't create a global naming convention by fiat
that will be accepted widely enough to take the next scaling steps.
The lawyers will simply start litigating.

It is strange that DNS was not globally chosen since it can easily be
adapted to the limited geographic use such as NADF mechanized, while
retaining the ability for organizations to overlap geographic boundaries.
The horse is after all dead, isn't it?
