Nope, no /etc/procmailrc to be found. I wonder if it could be some
problem with user name resolution.

Is there an /etc/procmailrc? Specifying a rcfile on the command line
causes procmail to ignore /etc/procmailrc, thus it suddenly working
when you do so.
