You must be refering to postfix, the MTA written by Wietse Venema.  The
FAQ on www.postfix.org says that it does and describes what variables
to set in postfix's configuration file.

      I don't think so.  This is apparrently a commercial program that
has gone open source. 

Wietse's announcement to bugtraq explicitly stated that postfix is
what used to be called vmailer. I'm glad to see he's finally released
it.
