why not add these lines as headers? For example:

List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:bbedit-talk-off(_at_)barebones(_dot_)com>
If they prove to be annoying, the readers of this list can easily

Yes, this is what RFC 2369 suggests and is supported by new
versions of mail clients, e.g., Pine 4.20. FYI, the RFC is at:
