First off I use mime_header_checks with Postfix for a start, the file
contains a long list of all those attachments that you would rather not
infiltrate your mail system, I can mail you a copy plus the corresponding
entry you will need for your /etc/postfix/main.cf file.

I am not the systems administrator of the system. And I don't think we use
postfix. But hey I would be interested also in having a copy.

Secondly, I use SpamAssassin, which, after a 'learning stage' (that's for
SA not me, it learns what is SPAM and what isn't) does in fact take out 99%
of my spam mail and dumps it into a maildir, which I then hide so I don't
see anything.

SA, I believe is still in its learning stage as it has been recently
installed (like 3-4 months ago).

SA is still working weirdly. So far it only tags all my mails but do not
dump them in a folder.

I am assuming that you, like myself, own your own domain name
and mail server as this is my setup.

Yeps I own one but I do not subscribe to Mailing lists and stuff with my
domain email. I prefer to use the University's Linux server for these
purposes.

It has been an awfully long and frustrating road, but I am willing to share
all this with you if it would help. Jules

Yeah sure. So far this virussnag .rc got rid of all those "Ms
Inet" emails. This mornig I was glad to see that all the spam mails have
been caught. :-p

With kind regards,

Didier.
