Yea, my dupes come from idiots on discussion lists who insist on sending
replies to the list AND to the previous participants. These I deal with
using a cc recipe - the copy from the list is filed, and messages bearing
the list address as a cleartext recipient but which were not relayed from
the list are discarded. Works quite well.
The dupe recipe in question isn't the source of his extra messages. It is
certainly appearing that he has a clone recipe AFTER the dupe checker. Or,
before and he's filing these messages before the dupe checker...

Sean & others, I have trapped the "mystery dups" message from "Claudio" at
very top of the procmailrc as per Sean's "catch" recipe.
Then, it goes on to deliver one copy to my global "ham" folder (for
training Spamassassin Bayes).
After that, it delivers TWO copies to my mail account.
Indeed, it appears that "something" is duplicating Claudio's emails to me,
but does NOT do so on any others out of 1000+ messages/day to my account.
I have placed a copy of the verbose Log file for this receipt at:
http://www.antennex.com/tmp/dups2.txt
Below are the primary portions of the Log applicable, I believe.
Delivery to "Claudio's Catch folder" at very top - only ONE copy delivered:
