I suspect a lot of people will have difficulty in remaining open to
suggestions coming from secret parties.  Their need for secrecy in the
first place makes them, and their suggestion, suspect.  Suggestions
CAN be considered on their technical merit.  XML appears to have been
shot full of holes here, based on technical concerns.  If a suggestion
is to also be considered on its political merits, then I think it is
absolutely essential that those merits be fully explained, and that
includes knowing exactly who (all) is making the suggestion.  When
political merits are at issue, such as "getting their backing", then
it just doesn't mean anything without knowing who _they_ are.
