far and fast as I could from the idea. IMHO XML is not appropriate for
this application in any case as much due to the 512 byte UDP limit as
for any other reason. Anyone who administers DNS who can't deal with the
creation of the currently defined format should probably be using a web
front end that can hide the details behind all manner of "friendly"
obfuscation including XML if someone really thinks they want it. DNS is
lean and mean and until every system is connected by fiber and sports
GigEthernet connectivity and massive overkill in processing power we
need to help it (DNS) by acknowledging its limitations and working
within them.
