First off, most mailing lists use VERP and do not pass on the original

They use VERP to send a message to _you_. Have you ever seen an
ezmlm-idx archive?

Yeah, I think I have. I don't know of any mailing list archive that
shows the envelope-from address and most munge the From: header.

But of course, the point is not where and how I
pick up the address.

I dunno. I think the point *is* that you can't easily pick up the
envelope-from and that any system that leaks it is a system you
probably don't want to send email to.

Second, that address will only work for a matter of days. It has
var less value to spammers than most other addresses.

TMDA, qconfirm already are protecting return addresses---what is in
SRS which is new and additionally useful for the original poster?

I really hope you understand the difference between TMDA and SRS.
They are completely different tools for different problems. You can
use one or both of them if you want.
