What am I missing? Just phone them up and ask if they wouldn't mind
publishing some SPF records, "please".
You are right, we should ask. One of the problems with open
communities is no one can speak for them, it is kind of awkward trying
to decide who should step forward.
But, since I have no shame, I emailed off a (hopefully) polite note to
the three MS folks that have been participating in the IETF MARID
mailing list asking them to publish SPFv1 records. I also suggested
that they update their webpage to mention the merger, just like Meng
has updated the SPF webpage.
We shall see what happens. And remember, if what happens is bad, feel
free to blame me for speaking for the community when I shouldn't. ;->
