It's configurable in many MTA's but I've not found MTA's setting policy. :-)

Generally the MTA's are configured in accordance with the organizational
owner of the MTA. ;-)

For my part I reject these out right on our mail hosts. "Get right or
get gone!" is my motto. He-he!
