This kind of rule elimate 80% of spam. Other servers are just half
configured systems, so colateral damages are not too mutch big.

Except for webhosting companies who have 1000's of domains on a single
IP address. Right?
If such companies are not able to set a PTR to their mail software
*and* that does not look at their mail log and mailq why the mail is
delayed then the company is brain damaged.
I still think that mail services implies responsability, and such
companies doesn't think they are responsible for what they do or sell.
The fact that AOL now require a valid PTR and associated A for mail
server that send mail to AOL's MX is IMHO a good thing.
Also, helo / ehlo with a valid hostname should also a good thing to be
checked (eg RFC 1912 2.1), personaly I don't want to refuse mail
because of that, but spammers and low knowledge "administrators" (sic)
never check such important parts.
I know I am a bit strict with RFCs, but they are here, and should be
respected for the sake of good exchanges between companies...
I beleive that SPF is a good thing for all of us, but I still cannot
find a good SRS forwarder (and that can be virtualised) for postfix...
;(
