SMTP AUTH can take place over *any* port.  The email service is worthless
for SPF purposes if you are not authenticated - that is why you're not
using your ISP, remember?  The ISP won't block *all* ports (or you're
wasting your money).  They probably don't block 587, the typical
SMTP AUTH port.
