I disagree totally about requirements to own a domain. That is absurd.
Your "minimum standards" turn this from a People's Medium into a
commercial exercise. Why not allow only a dozen media companies to own
them? After all, it works to your satisfaction, I'm sure, for radio and
television -- if standards were relaxed there, other voices might be
heard that might not have millions, and we can't have that...
There should be a set of acceptable standards that one
needs to demonstrate.

The idea of minimum standards for domain ownership, at a minimum, is
ridiculous -- why not have minimum standards for naming one's children,
and if one can't pay $1000 they can just use a number?
