Actually, there are no technical requirements to OWN a domain, and
should not be. There are technical requirements to SERVING a domain.
The financial requirements to running a mail server are, as has been
shown here, in the neighborhood of $10 a month plus a five-year-old junk
PC. That's to be encouraged, not discouraged -- we're not after media
consolidation here. And nobody said there's any connection between
owning a domain and running a mail server.
