After lurking for the last 8000 messages to this list I'll put my first 2 
bits in.  I agree with the Apache statement.

The technical and political issues of SPF have been bashed about.  
Many side tracks have been explored and most have gone 
nowhere.  There are some hanging technical issues (sub domains) 
that haven't been completely resolved.  But SPFv1 will work for what 
it is intended to do, which is to give the owner of a domain the ability 
to give credibility to the systems that are sending mail that purports 
to be from his domain.  That in itself will not stop spam but it will be 
a useful tool.

Time will tell if it is going to be a "standard" but unless we get busy 
and adopt it and enforce it nothing will come of it.

Lets move on without MS's "standard".
