Does the Patent System Need an Overhaul?
By SABRA CHARTRAND

INCE 1793, the federal government has issued patents to inventors, giving
them exclusive ownership of an idea as well as the right to prevent others
from using it. Now some experts argue that achieving those rights stifles
innovation.
This was interesting, but was only concerned with the welfare of corporations.
The system isn't fixed until individuals and small business owners can
stop looking over their shoulder for patent barratry.
