Re: Article in Oakland (CA) Tribune

2004-10-04 11:30:12
Greetings,
I just read the article which can be found at:

http://www.oaklandtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,82~10834~2445425,00.html#

Immediately followed by a call to a local journalist, who stated, "if we
provide her with the facts in laymens terms, she will rewrite it in 'AP'
style for submittal to the AP as well as local media'. She also stated it
could be used elsewhere for submittal to your local media...

Any takers? Does it sound like something we may want?

Let me know.

BTW: i will archive the ORI article on my site.

Be Safe!!

Smitty

"Patent row kills anti-spam plan" by Anick Jesdanun (AP).
Never mentions SPF at all at all. It is a promo piece for Sender-ID.

"As the Sender ID working group, formally known as MARID ..."

"Microsoft spokesman Sean Sundwall said the company would continue
to push Sender ID regardless of the IETF's decision. He said smaller
companies might hesitate without standards but larger ones won't
change their plans."

(The quotes next are in the paper and apply of Sundwall)
'"Once you get a critical mass of people adopting Sender ID,
it becomes for the smaller sender critically important that
they adopt it as well," he said.'

I do not know if this is online anywhere.
