What legal protection? If someone blocks my email, can I sue

Only as receiver, you have a contract with your mail provider.

Not as sender, anybody is free to reject your mail for whatever
reasons. E.g. "Sending IP contains odd digit" is an excellent
spam filter, much better than PRA or SPF. But MicroSoft can't
patent "odd IP", it's prior art and "my" intellectual property.

Actually it's a theorem in number theory, "almost all integers
contain any given digit".
