RE: Voting testers please

2004-11-17 08:11:26
Works fine for me, but one little thing that could be perceived as a bug:

If I select 5 then "check my vote".
Then I change my selection and click Confirm

My final vote does not end up being my changed selection.

I recommend that, when you offer the user the button for "Confirm", they can
EITHER:
Click Confirm
OR
Click revise (which then takes them back to where they can actually change the
selections.)

Hence the page that has the confirm button is not a page where they can change
selections.

Otherwise, someone might make their selection, click "Check my vote", realize
they want to make a
change, make the change but FORGET to "check my vote" again, and so their final
vote gets recorded
as something different then what they last saw (and intended).

Yes, yes, I know its all documented how to do it correctly (must re-check if
the selections are not
red), but you don't actually think people read instructions, do you? :( I
would recommend the
above method where changes cannot be made when a confirm button is displayed,
it is confusion proof
(especially for those that do not read/comprehend english instructions).

BTW Did any of the testers NOT vote for the Borg? :)

Yep it's working now - and all those who have asked for
testing accounts
have got one. You'll know when you're in the right place
'cos you'll either
laugh or groan ;-)

I am *not* using peoples regular e-mail addresses for testing
- this is a
controlled test and you need to give me an account to add to
the list of
testers.

This needs testing please - http://www.spf_vote.idimo.com

Let me have a couple of e-mail address which you can use
to receive the
key
and the copy result, and I'll set up test accounts for them.

Any issues, please report browser type, OS and specific
problem details.
I'm not too interested in cosmetics - not enough time.
I'll make it
look
prettier for the next one :-)
