I am not volunteering for this opportunity, however I would point out
that it might be prudent to define the duties of the SPF site webmaster
in terms of fixed time periods. In other words, the duty may last only
one (1) year, after which a new webmaster (or the existing webmaster if
so chosen) can continue the job for another year.
This is not currently defined in the website resolution (#14) as I thought
it was obvious: a delegate remains in their position until the council
chooses to redelegate or the delegate chooses to resign. I'll make a
motion at the next council meeting to make this explicit in resolution
#14.
Ideally, it might be nice if one of our EDU list members could take on
stewardship for the webmaster role so that a ready supply of budding
webmasters (students) could handle this duty over time.
There are security concerns over the SPF website, with regard to both
content and server configuration, so the webmasters need to be trusted.
Introducing a level of indirection in the webmaster positions may pose a
problem. What do others think?
