Wrong!

The burglar (in this case the spammers and the forwarders) is the problem.
Not the lock.  Not the kids.

Different problem.  If your door has always been unlocked so your kids
can get in and out, the burglar is a problem.  If you then put a lock
on the door to keep the burglar out, the lock causes the problem that
your kids can't get in.
