Arrgghh... sorry.  I saw "reuse" + "?all" and that triggered
some battle condition, flame thrower on auto pilot firing.

Yeah, defining "v=spf1 mx a -all" as default unless users
"opt-out" with at least "v=spf1 ?all" is a cute idea... ;-)

But I'm not sure about adding "thought experiments" to an
appeal, above all they need (not too many) facts.  

Keith said that this mess was an error, not intentional,
Ned said that he's worried, so I really hope that this
appeal is not only a waste of time for the records.

I was wondering if bringing up a thought experiment like
that in the appeal would be helpful or distracting.

Your aspect of non-voluntary participants in a dubious
experiment with their mail (allowing them to "opt-out")
is very important, IMHO Julian's text covers this already,

If he likes your example and adds it it's of course fine.

Hard to tell which IESG members have that sense of humour,
for Scott and Harald I'd guess "yes" (Harald is no member
at the moment).
