There are lots of people who consider DSNs sent to people who have
had their email address forged to be backscatter.  If you want to find
some of them, just wander into news.admin.net-abuse.email or spam-l.



When I reject at SMTP time, legitimate senders never see the entire
error message - because their MTA mangles it.  The DSNs are very helpful
to legitimate but clueless senders - and also serve to verify that the


Uh, I don't think the fact that some MTAs/MUAs mess up DSN is a valid
reason to generate backscatter.  If the message is too long, you might
consider adding a URL to a web page with a longer explanation.
