not designed to. Role addresses, sort of by definition, don't belong to
a mail client (even if those role addresses are all handled by one
person), but to a server and/or organization. So I see handling role
addresses as a server-based solution. Never intended the mail client to
handle all whitelisting possibilities, any more than client-based spam
tools (like mail.app has on OS X) solves the server-based issues of
spam.
