Could you explain what you mean by "forge" and "legitimate"?  You
appear to be saying that mailing lists are doing something sleazy and
illegitimate by doing what they've done for the past 40 years, which
seems implausible.

So, if I understand you correctly, when the AARP e-pends an address for me and sends me spam, it's "legitimate" because they're spamming from their own domain, but when you get mail from the DKIM list you've signed up for it's not. Wow.
