and a recipient sees it as
From: Joe Doe <joe%discardable(_dot_)example(_at_)mlm(_dot_)example>
then he will still have a pretty clear idea that it originated from Joe
Doe, ...
Actually, in both cases, most MUAs will show:
From John Doe
It's the same thing it'll show if this is the From: line
From: John Doe <boris(_at_)phishphest(_dot_)ru>
As Dave often points out, this group has negligible expertise in user
interface design.
But these are certainly things you should put in an I-D about this
proposal. Needless to say, none of this is appropriate for a document
describing what MLMs do now or are likely to do in the near future.
