Re: IETF Last Call under RFC 3683 concerning JFC (Jefsey) Morfin

I am against this action.

Harald Tveit Alvestrand <harald(_at_)alvestrand(_dot_)no>

is notorious for swinging for Thors Hammer Mjoelnir just see his postings

Let me offer a simplistic metric.....

if a WG chair has posted nothing to the WG mailing list for a week, and
that WG chair has not told the WG he's on holiday, that WG chair is
probably not doing his/her job.

If NOBODY's posted to the WG mailing list for a week, it's time to close
the WG.

Since I'm no longer responsible for anything that Dean Anderson has a
legitimate role in, and Dean Anderson has proved that he irritates me, I
can stop listening to Dean Anderson.

Goodbye, mr. Anderson.

You have of course read RFC 2826, "IAB Technical Comment on the Unique DNS
Root"?

Of course, this is specifically about the DNS, and doesn't answer your
question as it pertains to non-DNS systems....

Thanks for confirming that you have totally missed what the IASA process
was all about.

This community has a number of people who wish to say how things need to be
done - whether it is meeting location, IPv6 or cookies during the breaks -
while absolutely refusing to spend any thought cycles whatsoever trying to
find out how this organization is actually put together, who will have to
make the decisions to implement their wishes, and who those people are
accountable to.

You have thoroughly confirmed that you are among that group.

I think IPv6 can wait until we have the formalities straight.

It seems that you missed the publication of BCP 101, RFC 4071, which
explains exactly what the IASA is.

Once you say something that indicates that you have done anything at all to
understand the organization you claim to be working in, I might find a
reason to engage in debate with you again.

...

There are a lot more.

But please understand I dont want to open a case against Harald here.

The quotes are taken out of context. I enjoy Haralds direct language.
I am shure he did not mean it insultive.

But please understand people who speak a different language might
feel insulted and bite back.

Speaking in an international and multicultural society need respecting
eachother - not shooting on first sight.

Peter and Karin Dambier

The IESG has received a request from Harald Alvestrand to approve an RFC
3683 PR-action ("posting rights" action) for JFC (Jefsey) Morfin as a
result of a pattern of prior warning and posting rights suspensions for
off-topic postings to the LTRU working group and ietf-languages mailing
lists that have not produced a change in behavior. This behavior has been
characterized as a "denial-of-service" attack to disrupt the
consensus-driven process as described in Section 1 of RFC 3683. A timeline
of warnings and posting rights suspensions related to this request is
included below.

The IESG will consider this request. If approved, the PR-action described
in Section 2 of RFC 3683 includes provisions to allow list administrators to
suspend Mr. Morfin's posting rights to the LTRU working group and
ietf-languages mailing list for at least one year. Maintainers of other
IETF mailing lists may also remove posting rights to their mailing lists at
their discretion.

The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits final
comments on this action. Please send any comments to the
iesg(_at_)ietf(_dot_)org or
ietf(_at_)ietf(_dot_)org mailing lists by 17 February 2006.

Applications Area Director
