serves political parties.
Right.
So is there anything you would like for the confirming bodies to say to
Nomcom, that doesn't sound like quotas?

Generally this solution space is most elegantly handled by increasing the
pool size from which selection is made. This generally involves actively
recruiting under-represented groups to join the pool rather than directly
manipulating a merit based selection process.
