All,

This is the agenda for Sunday:

1000-1200 EDT IEPG Meeting - Caribbean 4
1100-1900 EDT IETF Registration - Caribbean Registration
1300-1450 EDT IEEE 802.1Q - Caribbean 5
1300-1450 EDT Newcomers' Orientation - Caribbean 4
1500-1650 EDT IAOC Overview Session - Caribbean 6
1500-1650 EDT Introduction to RAI Development in the IETF Tutorial -
Caribbean 5
1500-1650 EDT WG Leadership - Caribbean 4
1600-1700 EDT Newcomers' Meet and Greet (open to Newcomers and WG chairs
only) - Boca Patio
1700-1900 EDT Welcome Reception - Grand Sierra D

That overlap does not seem serious.
[MB] I consider the overlap significant. Either the new comers need
to skip the 2nd tutorial or walk out halfway through. I would think a
large percentage of newcomers would want to attend tutorials about the
Areas. And, having WG leadership means new WG chairs can't attend the
meet and greet. [/MB]

Mary,

I need to check but...

[MB] What I find interesting is that there was 200+ newcomers, but I
certainly didn't find that many at the meet and greet. I have to
wonder whether this doesn't have to do with the overlap between Sunday
tutorials and this event. I think that needs to be fixed.

Very right that it would need to be fixed, but I thought that it was
avoided explicitly and
deliberately. Anyone got a copy of the agenda in front of them?

Maybe we could do a little research on why newcomers don't show at this
meeting. Are they tired?
Shy? Unaware? Not perceiving the value?
