FYI, NAT means 48 bit Internet, which is large enough for all the practical purposes. You can enjoy the 48 bit space even with the end to end transparency with RSIP (rfc3130), A+P (rfc6346), E2ENAT (draft-ohta-e2e-nat) or PE-ARP (NANOG47), though A+P is written as if it can't.
