unstated is whom it is who decides “adequate”… and your broad brush “world
stage” and the innuendo of “negative” perception appears to be FUD at best.

Finally, the volunteer services. They run extremely well, but like
commercial services, they are not perfect. Generally speaking, our volunteer
services tend to migrate to officially maintained IETF services over time,

by volunteers, obviously! Hopefully you can participate the Code Sprint
event, and possibly help address any issues within the volunteer servers.
Jari,
When the volunteer services are adequate to the task, all is well. When they
are not, consideration has to be made to bring those services under the
supported umbrella with haste. It's all well and good that this is in large
part a volunteer organization, but if we're going to be taken seriously on
the world stage things have to work, period. "But we're just a bunch of
volunteers!" is not only not an adequate excuse, it's a serious negative in
that space.
That said, I'm speaking generally; without any specific team, function, etc.
in mind.
