I receive my email through GMail, too, and that one was delivered
promptly:

with nearly all of the ~28 minute delay coming from the hop to front
door for the mailing list:

    Received: from [2001:3c8:9009:181::2] (port=61513 helo=munnari.OZ.AU) by

In your case, though, David, you received it via the mailing
list. That is, there was no hop directly from munnari to GMail
(where the 33-hour delay occurred for me).

BTW, kre, it added this complaint about Munnari:

    X-detected-operating-system: by eggs.gnu.org: Error: Malformed IPv6
address
      (bad octet value).
    X-Received-From: 2001:3c8:9009:181::2

(I did see others' replies to it, that were sent to the mailing
list, and was waiting to see if I'd ever get a copy.)

Could the messages that you don't receive be getting caught in a
spam trap? I've had to whitelist some senders and maybe some
intermediates.

This has so far been the only one that I'm aware of. I've not
otherwise seen replies to ML messages that I've not received.

As far as I'm aware, GMail has not suppressed messages, and it
pretty rarely puts ham in my Spam folder (which I promptly
"teach" it is ham).
