Speaking of "duplicates", I've got a recurring dup problem with a regular
correspondent from Italy. I receive emails daily as a normal routine --
and, they always get delivered to my Inbox as duplicates even after running
through the dups recipe. I tried to change dups recipes, but still always
get two copies delivered. I'm catching all other dups with my recipe(s).
I've checked the cache and it does indeed contain the message_ID on each
and every event from this sender. This has been going on for more than a
year. Over the span of the year+, I've tried all sorts of other things to
trap the mysterious and annoying extra copy, but to no avail. They still
come -- some with large attachments which are thus doubled too.
One such effort included using a second custom dups recipe (with a
different ID cache) on that sender to scan just his emails hoping that it
would trim the extra copy -- not! These two recipes were placed directly in
the procmailrc (I use a global).
Right now, I've just set up a forwarding of just his messages to another
email account of mine to see what happens as it will force yet another
scan. Haven't seen one come in yet to see results.
I've told the sender to see if he is sending copies to me from his client.
He says no. His emails are the only one like this out of several hundred I
receive every day.
I have done a "diff" on each copy's header and they are identical in all
respects, the ID of course too.
Is this one just too simple and I'm not seeing the answer...??
I've placed an example of the headers #1 & #2 copy at:
http://www.antennex.com/tmp/dups.txt
Can anyone suggest a solution or spot something from the examples?
Thanks!
