Re: Maybe simple question

So, like, the other day "Edward Ned Harvey" mumbled:

I have shown that spf cannot succeed even theoretically, but nobody seems to
understand what I said, or is unwilling to think about it.

Whatever.

Granted, spf is better than nothing, because it will stop spammers from
forging hotmail or yahoo.

Exactly. This solve some of the accountability failings
with the current world.

But as I described in my email 1 minute ago, it
will not stop spam. They can always easily and quickly forge somebody.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this or not, but:

    ***************************************************
** SPF is not designed to stop all spam. **
    ***************************************************

emvp is well thought out, but poorly documented. All of the work so far has
been mostly offsite and verbal, not much written.

On the other hand, SPF has a complete implementation available today,
has an RFC-draft, and can be show to be working in prototype.

As much as we (TINW) would all like, the spam solution is not
going to come as a single one-shot solution yet. We are still
attacking it in pieces. SPF provides an accountability piece.

Oy vey.
