SV: Publishing of SPF Records

Small correction: http://www.gratisdns.dk/ already supports TXT records now, so
you don't need to set up anything at home.

There are many reason for this - DNS is much cheaper in bandwidth than HTTP,
faster, and a protocol that required HTTP lookup would not be successful for
many reasons.

If you're looking for a low cost DNS solution, consider to create your own DNS
server on your computer at home and let a free service like
http://www.gratisdns.dk/ be backup for your primary DNS host. After that, you
can tell your TLD that the 5 nameservers from gratisdns are the DNS servers to
look up at, and this way your own server will not be loaded by DNS requests.
The costs of doing this: $0 if your computer at home is online on the same IP
address all the time (that's how dybdahl.dk works).

The free and cheap nameserver providers will suppor TXT records eventually -
most I've talked to are planning for it right now, and then you can do it for
free online without any big problems.

Hi,
I was wondering if SPF could be used by Domain owners which dont have
access to to their DNS Servers.
Why is publishing sticking so strictly to DNS? If http publishing would
be allowed as well lots of lowcost Domain
owners would be able to publish their records.
Stefan
