There are two choices: supporting http lookups or not. Supporting them would
kill SPF. I don't think there's much more to say about that subject.
I really don't see a problem here - unless you try to provide SPF functionality
to a domain that isn't yours? And if you try that, you have misunderstood what
SPF is about.

could be,
but there are many existent domains where its not possible to change the domain
DNS and not possible to add custom records and maybe not feasable to move them
to an other provider.
