In a word - SPF "branding" sucks.
I'm proud that I support it, and wanted to drop the logo on my web
site, by yikes - it's ghastly, and the magnifying glass idea makes
people think I'm spying on all their emails.
This needs to be fixed - seriously - we need something as
eyecatchingly sexy as the verisign "Secure Site Seal" program logo
(see http://www.verisign.com) - branding is very very important: every
time someone adopts SPF and uses the logo, it's the root of a new tree
of people who are going to find out and possibly use it too. Every
time someone writes about it online or in a magazine, the logo is
going to catch eyes and inspire confidence and trust.
Can we do a new one? If so - are there any artists out there, or any
ideas for what the log should look like, or "do" or say etc? We gotta
loose the spyglass - that's one thing for sure.
