That works as long as they aren't doing load-balancing across multiple
servers.  I doubt many places are doing that for outgoing mail, but it
could happen.

The mail cluster I operate at work load balances my outbound SMTP
through redundant "directors", although all traffic originates with the
same-ip since the balancing method is an implementation of LVS-NAT.
