Any idea what version of bind supports the SPF RR type?
BIND 9.4, which hasn't been released yet, but is already in the RC1 stage,
will be the first version to officially support the SPF RR type (code 99).
However, as Scott and Stuart pointed out, you can use the generic "TYPE99"
type if you want to publish such records using earlier BIND versions. dig
also understands that type:
| $ dig mehnle.net TYPE99 +sho
| \# 23 16763D73706631206F703D61757468206D78202D616C6C
BTW, I'm using PowerDNS (a slightly patched 2.9.20) as my authoritative
name server. The 2.9.21 release will officially support the SPF RR type,
too.
